Thefts of street signs in Sevier County, Arkansas has some local people concerned about public safety.

County workers estimate dozens of signs have been stolen in recent weeks, mainly in rural areas.

Sevier County Judge Greg Ray believes the missing signs could make it difficult for some first responders to respond to emergencies.

"They might not know where to go without that street sign being there," Ray said.

The Lockesburg Fire Department says homeowners should make sure their homes or mailboxes have their address posted, so responders can find them without confusion.
