Two of three suspects in the burglary of Vivian home are in
Caddo Correctional Center, and a third is pending. The home was burglarized in July by three
different suspects all on the same day.
One of the suspects was arrested this past weekend after a three-hour search involving four-wheelers and the U.S. Marshal's Violent Offenders Task Force.
James Michael Clark, 34, of Vivian, was booked into the CCC on a CPSO warrant for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator. Clark was also booked for resisting arrest.
Sheriff's Detective Donnie Laney, who investigated the case, said the break-ins occurred July 2 in the 1800 block of North Pine Street in Vivian.
During the first burglary, the suspect took a jewelry box, a Wii gaming system, DVDs and legal papers. The second burglary occurred when the first suspect - whose name has not as yet been released - contacted Clark and asked him to retrieve a shotgun from the house.
Clark was driven to the house by suspect Sharla Simmons, the third person in this theft triumvirate, who later returned on her own to steal a pair of cowboy boots.
She later posted a picture of the boots on Facebook.
Simmons, 30, of Vivian, was arrested on August 10 for her part in the break-ins and was booked into CCC for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
Clark was arrested Friday at a family member's house on Totem Road in Vivian. Clark initially fled when the U.S. Marshal's Task Force showed up to arrest him.
The Task Force used four-wheelers to search a wooded area nearby. Clark later returned to the house and was taken into custody. The case against the first suspect is still under investigation.
