Lots of little ones got up-to-date on their immunizations Monday morning thanks to the Shots for Tots Mobile Unit. The free shots program made a stop at the Brookshire Brothers store on the corner of Linwood and Bert Kouns.
"He needed his shots and he's in daycare. I went on Willis-Knighton website to get Shots for Tots schedule. This was most convenient one on a Monday morning. So we came over, but yeah, we always come," said Brittany Brown, mother of nine month old son, Brendon.
Since most school-age kids have taken care of their shots , and returned to school, it was mostly parents with babies and toddlers waiting to get their vaccines.
Brown's nine months old, Brendon, needed three shots as required by state law to go to daycare. She says the program is perfect for single parents.
"You can get them in and get them out. You don't have to worry about health unit and long wait or anything like that... And then, it's cheaper than us going to doctor where you would have to use your insurance to pay for high shot fees," said Brown.
