Today, on the second day of candidate qualifying for the November 6 election, David Matlock, chief judge of the Caddo Parish Juvenile Court announced he will enter the race for the District 3 seat on Louisiana's Second Circuit Court of Appeal.
"I have the judicial and legal experience we need on the Court of Appeal," Matlock said. Matlock, a Republican, has served as juvenile judge since 1994.
Matlock will join Frances Pitman, also a Republican, a Caddo Parish district judge, who qualified as a candidate for the District 3 seat Tuesday.
The seat is open due to the retirement of Judge Charles Petross. It encompasses most of Caddo and all of DeSoto and Red River Parishes.
