10th Anniversary of Missing Mother

Paige Dowden never thought she would still be wondering what happened to her sister, Kristi O`Pry. "I`ve almost known all along that Kristi was killed that night. I know eventually she would have called us, but that never came," admitted Paige Dowden. O`Pry was last seen leaving her sister`s home on July 19, 1996 in a white Chevrolet pick up truck with Eric Dale Mikelson. The family says he is a friend of O`Pry`s boyfriend. Caddo parish detectives were told she was then dropped off at the South Park Mall but have never been able to confirm the information. Detectives are still calling it a missing person case and are trying to find answers. "We are going back to interview all the witnesses or people that she was acquainted with at the time," explained Detective Danny Meriam, Caddo Parish Sheriffs Office. To date, no solid leads and that news is haunting the family. "This has been a 10 year nightmare, and we really, really want to find Kristi and if she has been murdered we want to find her remains, we just want a place to bring flowers to," said commented Dowden. The cold case team has three binders full of information they will continue to review, but they also need the public`s help. "Somebody knows something and eventually we`ll find them and we`ll find out what they know," said Detective Meriam. For now the OPry family is wondering if they will ever get any type of closure. "We really want to find her, it would be so important to us to have somewhere to bring flowers to, above and beyond any prosecution that anyone that is responsible for this."
