Split Decision in Demons First Scrimmage

(Natchitoches, LA) Northwestern State held its first scrimmage of the 2012 season.
Head coach Brad Peveto was pleased with all aspects of his teams' performance.

The defense forced five turnovers in the contest and a fumble returned for 21 yards.
Offensively, the Demons produced eight touchdowns in the two hour battle. Starting quarterback Brad Henderson responsible for two of those through the air.

Kenderick Johnson led the wideouts with two receptions of 50-plus yards.
Rumeall Morris rumbled for 103 yards on the ground on 17 carries and two touchdowns.

The NSU team will not practice Sunday, but will resume workouts Monday with two full pads sessions, at 9:40 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. in Turpin Stadium.
 
The second major preseason scrimmage is next Saturday with the third and final one set Wednesday evening, Aug. 22.
