Red Cross helps victims

12 families are displaced tonight after a massive early morning  fire destroys several apartment units in Shreveport.
The fire remains under investigation, but a suspected arsonist is in custody.
43-year-old Dexter Sims was arrested on one count of aggravated arson.
Investigators say they have yet to find a motive.
The blaze sparked early this morning at the Villa Marquis apartment complex on Valley View Drive.
When firefighters arrived, they say residents were trying to escape through windows.
In all, five people were rushed to area hospitals.
The local chapter of the Red Cross was on scene assisting those devastated by the fire.


The Red Cross has helped four families affected by the fire.

Fuller Center cross-country bike ride in Shreveport June 22

The Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure's 6th annual 3,700 cross-country tour will arrive in Shreveport June 22, when they are 500 miles into their journey. They will get a rare day off June 23, and then have a 'build day' with the Shreveport-based Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana on June 24.

Alpha Race comes to Barksdale

The Alpha Race is a national event that was founded by veterans to help veterans and their families. And next month the race is coming to Barksdale Air Force Base.
