Investigation into Friday night shooting death continues

A woman was shot and killed in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood Friday night and the investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. Friday (July 20, 2012), Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Boulevard Street relative to a shooting. Upon arrival, patrolmen discovered 27-year-old Jasmine Hall suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.
The victim was subsequently transported to LSU Medical Center by the Shreveport Fire Department where she later was pronounced deceased.
Detectives have learned the victim and a man reported to be her husband arrived at a residence there on Boulevard Street to find a known male suspect standing in the driveway.
According to preliminary information gathered by investigators, the woman's husband and the male suspect engaged in a physical confrontation during which the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired at least one shot, striking the victim.
The gunman then fled in a vehicle.
