Local residents call Colorado shootings 'senseless massacre'

The shootings in Colorado are what many local people are calling a 'senseless massacre' that could easily happen to them and their families.

  What cuts to the core for many people after learning of the shootings is the possibility of it happening to them and their loved ones.

    Just how could a night that was supposed to be filled with excitement and entertainment turn to bloodshed and tears within seconds?

    While questions continue to rise and the investigation continues, for the film industry experts say it could be difficult for the reputation of a movie that cost nearly $200 million in production to bounce back.

   A tragedy as wide-scale as this one can touch many lives; when Valerie Robinson woke up this morning, she was nervous. "My cousin lives there, and he was actually going to go to the movies last night and decided not to."

  She said she was relieved her cousin didn't go, but added, "The production will go on. They may have to delay it, they may have to postpone some events they had planned for it, but that will happen. Right now, the immediate attention needs to go to those people."

    Other local people say the Colorado tragedy is making them a little more cautious, watching their surroundings, but mainly they just want to know why. 

  However, local people still say they'll see the movie.  They seem to feel what happened early Friday morning could happen anywhere, so it's just a matter of moving forward.

  Out of respect, reports indicate the premiere of the film in Paris - which was scheduled to open this evening - has been cancelled.
