Council Woman Admits To Voter Fraud

In February, a Bowie County grand jury indicted Willie Ray and two other woman for voter fraud. This week, Ray admitted she mailed in a ballot for an ill friend, which is a violation of voting law. Since she admitted to the charge, seven other counts against her were dismissed by the judge. The long-time council woman must pay a $200 fine and serve an eight month probabtion period. If she completes the terms of her probation, there is no conviction for the misdemeanor entered by the judge.
