For three years Linwood Public Charter School officials have been tracking their progress, and they're excited about the results.

Thursday morning, the charter school's board president, held a news conference about students' test scores.  They say eighth graders who've been with the school all three years performed about 16% higher on the LEAP test than students at other Caddo Parish middle schools.  The results prompting the charter school to expand their student body.

"So we have seen now that three years with this system produces very significant results.  So we decided to expand our enrollment figures and move it up to 520 this year," said Gard Wayt, Linwood Public Charter School Board President.

That's about 60 students more than last year which means the school now needs to hire more teachers.

The board president encouraging certified passionate educators to contact the school about a job since they're offering a competitive starting salary.
