EUGENE, Ore. (June 23, 2012) - Louisiana Tech's Chelsea Hayes concluded her season in the 100m dash Saturday evening as she finished 20th in the semifinal round of the 100m at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Hayes ran 11.59 and finished sixth in her heat, placing 20th overall. The entire field of eight in the finals round is filled with professional sprinters with the lone exception being Oregon's English Gardner.

Despite not advancing in the 100m dash, Hayes' Olympic dreams can still be fulfilled. She will compete in the qualifying round in the long jump on June 29. The finals round of the long jump will be held on July 1 and the top three finishers will represent the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
