When summer heats up, more treats cool down at Geauxicles in Shreveport.

"We're putting orders together all day, every day," said Manager Jeanette Smith.

Added seasonal business means extra hiring for the gourmet ice pop shop. Many of the summer employees are either on summer break from high school or college.

"We bring them in, give them a few hours a day for a few days a week," Smith said.

For young adults looking for jobs of their own this summer, Jeff Bomar with Jean Simpson Personnel Services says positions are there -- you just need to find them.

"I think retail, they're always looking for summer help and restraunts, they're pretty flexible with the summer," Bomar said.

Lifeguard jobs and clerical positions are also available, Bomar says.  One key to landing the job is bringing the right attitude.

"Be motivated, be positive. Act eager that you want to work," Bomar said.

Louisiana Tech student Matthew Vetter found his summer job at Geauxsicle.  He says it's been a good fit so far.

"You deal with nice people, you get to stay indoors," Vetter said.
