A Shreveport man today (May 29) was sentenced to life in prison without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
A Caddo Parish jury deliberated around 20 minutes Wednesday to convict 22-year-old Joshua R. Parker of 2nd Degree Murder. Parker was charged with the June 2009 shooting death of Phillip Livigni, 17, who Shreveport police found suffering from a gunshot wound to the back in the University Elementary School parking lot in the 9900 block of Smitherman.
Livigni was transported to LSU Medical Center by the Shreveport Fire Department, where he later died in surgery.
Caddo District Judge Mike Pitman handed down the sentence.
