Dr. Holly Wall with Shreveport's Wall Center, says new teardrop shaped, silicon gel implants have been used in Europe for years but are now available in the states. She says most women can benefit from the textured implant that holds its shape, but it may be most helpful to women who've had breast cancer. Spring and early summer is the busiest time for plastic surgeons like Wall. She says while she hasn't had any patients use the new implants yet, they've only been on the market for two weeks, she expects women to choose them often in the future. This implant choice could help plastic surgeons do their jobs better, since they have more tools to choose from.
