It's a heated debate that is taking center stage -- should Louisiana State University-Shreveport remain in the LSU system?
System president John Lombardi addressed a room full of faculty members and took questions from the audience. Several people made clear they aren't happy with the current state of LSUS
However, Lombardi believes a merger is not what's in the best interest for Shreveport-Bossier. Last week the Louisiana Board of Regents did recommend a merger between LSUS and Louisiana Tech.
The legislature would have to approve the merger, but Lombardi believes it won't happen because they'll be focusing on K-12 education.
