We catch up with Casey Ashley about how he's feeling heading into this second classic on the Red.
He's seen this water before; Casey Ashley fished the Red in the 2009 classic and says he's excited to be back. But it's not just the familiar territory Casey's looking forward to, its river fishing in general. "It's shallow, dirty water and that fits my style of fishing," he says.
Casey's made a name for himself both on and off the water.
At 23 he was the youngest angler to win an Elite series event, now he's favorite on the tour. He also has a country music career, singing tracks about the sport he loves. "Fishing led me to the music career," Ashley says, "We'll just see how it goes."
And we'll see how it goes and if Casey's backing by Quantum will propel him to a win. He was hired by that team earlier this month and joins famous anglers like Kevin VanDam and Greg Hackney.
