Bossier Parish Community College has been ranked the fastest-growing community college in the country by Community College Week.
With enrollment rising from 5,430 students in fall 2009 to 6,473 in fall 2010, BPCC was number one among institutions with enrollments between 5,000 and 9,999. This 19% enrollment increase was two percent higher than Gulf Coast Community College in Florida and three percent higher than Illinois Eastern Community Colleges-Wabash Valley College, numbers two and three respectively.
Chancellor Jim Henderson expressed the College's enthusiasm for this recognition. "We are proud of this acknowledgement of our commitment to the access mission. The faculty and staff at BPCC have adopted a consumer-focused mindset that ensures our students enjoy an educational experience second to none."
Since fall 2010, BPCC's growth has continued to break records. Fall 2011 enrollment of 7,077 was the highest in the school's 44-year history.
"We fully expect our growth to continue as we deliver world class education to this community," Henderson added.
