Smoke Free Superbowl

The menu hasn't changed nor has what's on tap but the Slippery Noodle in Indianapolis, Indiana does have a different air about it. The state's oldest bar has gone smoke-free. Smokers can smoke in the tent or on the patio, but not anywhere inside, not even in the back room. Call it a sign of the times and a sign of the Super Bowl. Once the Slippery Noodle snuffed out smoking several other well-known bars were quick to follow. The decision by the bars comes as the city debates a tougher smoking ban and legislators, a statewide ban. The patrons of the bar might be thinking differently. "I see people not wanting to breathe the smoke, but I also see those who want to smoke and should be able to in a warm dry place," said Brian Gulh of Indianapolis. Bar managers predict they'll gain more customers than they lose. They also think other bars will follow their lead.
