NSU game at Lamar delayed for perhaps an hour-plus

BEAUMONT, Texas -- Two blown power transformers near Lamar's Provost Umphrey Stadium Saturday have resulted in a delay of the kickoff for the Northwestern State Demons' football game at Lamar.

 

As of shortly before 5 p.m., there was not an official start time announced. Indications were that kickoff, originally scheduled for 6, will be around 7 p.m. tonight.

 

Power was restored at the stadium about 4:15.
