BPCC DEBATE TEAM TO HOST HIGH SCHOOL DEBATES

Bossier Parish Community College's award-winning debate team will host the second annual BPCC Invitational High School Debate Tournament on Saturday, September 17on the college campus in Bossier City. 

 

Competitions, which will run from 8:00 am-8:00 pm, will be headquartered in Emmett E. Cope Student Services Building on the BPCC campus.  The tournament will feature two-on-two debates over the topic "The United States federal government should substantially increase its exploration and/or development of space beyond the Earth's mesosphere" as well as one-on-one debates over the topic "Justice requires the recognition of animal rights."

 

BPCC's debate team wrapped up the 2010-2011 intercollegiate debate season by earning the Community College National Championship at the International Public Debate Association National Championship Tournament.

BPCC RECEIVES MAJOR GIFT FROM ENCANA OIL & GAS (USA) INC.
Encana Oil & Gas Company (USA) Inc. is investing in the future of the energy industry in Northwest Louisiana with a contribution to Bossier Parish Community College's Capital Fund.  The $425,000 donation will help jumpstart the building campaign for the new Center for Integrated Engineering Technologies (CIET) Building.  The new structure will house the Oil and Gas Technology programs, the Engineering program, the Construction programs, and the Advanced Manufacturing/Industrial Technology programs.

BOSSIER VOLUNTEERS GUILD DONATES TO BPCC FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF NURSING STUDENTS

On Monday, October 3, 2011, the ladies of the Bossier Volunteers Guild (formerly Christus Schumpert Volunteers Guild) donated $10,000 to the BPCC Foundation to support students in BPCC's nursing program. Since 2003, members of the Guild, also known as the "Pink Ladies" have donated $1,000 - $2,000 annually toward the scholarship fund to recognize eligible students in the medical field.
