Stealing customers` down payments: a manager of a Shreveport car dealership is accused of doing just that. 36 year old Carey Broudy, the former financial manager for Holmes Honda, was arrested for stealing more than $15,000 from Holmes Honda. Shreveport Police say he manipulated paper work, pocketed down payments and changed interest rates. "You can either forge documents or destroy documents," Kacee Hargrave, Shreveport Police Dept. said," but when you`re dealing with this kind of money, you`re going to get caught." Police say the dealership was alerted to the problem when a customer came in to pick up his license plate for a recently purchased car and Holmes Honda had no record of it. Broudy was arrested soon after that. Shreveport Police say it`s a crime that`s fairly common. "It happens, the person needs the money and it`s there for the taking," Hargrave said. Holmes Honda would not comment on Broudy`s arrest because it is a pending case. As for Broudy, he is out on $20,000 bond, but, he will soon plead his case in a court of law.
