4th annual Friday in Pink will register participants for the 17th annual Race for the Cure and raise money through donations and some fantastic raffle items, and distribute breast health education.
On Friday, August 26 from 6 am to 6 pm, The Northwest Louisiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will hold an all day remote at the intersections of Youree Drive and Bert Kouns Industrial drive in front of Porter's cleaners at the Portico shopping center in Shreveport and on Benton Road in front of Kroger in Bossier City.
Raffle items include a custom pink bike designed by Ian Webb from River Cities, as well as Sheryl Crow tickets and more! There is an early bird special this year with discounted rates for registering for the walk early and a great opportunity to do so and to receive one of the commemorative shirts. Registration is also available online at www.komennwla.org now through September 16th. The 17th annual Race for the Cure will be held this year on September 17th at the CenturyLink Center.
We encourage everyone in our community to support
our affiliate by dressing in pink all day on August 20th and coming out to our
locations for the event. Please send pictures of your work place employees in
pink showing support or your family and friends. We will paint the communities
pink to raise awareness and raise money for finding the cure for breast cancer.
Please join us and help us save lives in Northwest Louisiana!
