MDA Fill the Boot Campaign to Start Soon

By: Sara DiMura

Every year, these men and women in uniform pound the pavement with their firefighter boots in hand to raise money for the Muscular Dystropy Association.

Parents of children who suffer from the disease say they're thankful for the firefighters efforts.

"If the firefighters out aren't out there raising the money I don't know she'd be able to get the physical therapy that she gets the opportunities she would have for attending camp is just amazing. I don't know what we'd do without it," says Martha Conley, parent.

You can expect Shreveport firefighters to start filling the boot next month.

Bossier City firefighters will fill their boots during labor day weekend.
