NBC6 (KTAL-TV) will broadcast a "Salute to Barksdale Air Force Base" in a 30 minute show at 5 p.m. Saturday, and again at 11 p.m. Sunday.
The broadcast will showcase some of the more significant an unique features the base has to offer while demonstrating the lifestyles of the men and women who serve our country. The show was developed as part of two month Salute to Barksdale which began on Memorial Day and goes through the 4th of July.
NBC6's salute to BAFB will give in sight to the base and its mission. The show consists of several stories of different missions of the base staff like Global Strike Command, munitions loaders, Military Dogs, and Crew chiefs. It also includes several human interest stories which examine life for people on the base like a man who re-enlists 149 ft in the air, community involvement and The Honor Guard and the pride the air force takes in this team.
A music montage of military footage, highlights from the air show and a unique feature on how the base team handles the surplus of squirrels on base are some of the fun features you will see in the show.
Salute to Barksdale Air Force Base" is locally produced and also includes features assembled by Barksdale's own media team. You learn more about Barksdale Air Force Base by logging on to www.arklatexhomepage.com. NBC6 is owned by Nexstar Broadcasting.
