Bossier Man Pleads Guilty to Drug and Weapons Charges

Michael Swan of Bossier City pleaded guilty Thursday to firearms and weapons charges in United States District Court. Swan was arrested in October 2005 following a search of his car that turned up four small grenades, nearly 200 grams of methamphetamine as well as other drugs, a handgun, and a large amount of cash. A federal grand jury returned an indictment in February of this year charging Swan with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm and in relation to a drug trafficking crime, and possession of unregistered grenades. Swan will be sentenced in U.S. District Court October 5th of this year.
