Judge Grants Convicted Killer More Time

Lawyers for a condemned Ark-La-Tex killer say their client shouldn`t be executed because he`s mentally retarded. 52-year old Jo Louis Dansby was sentenced to die for killing two people - Jeff Lewis and Malissa Clark - near Prescott in 1992. Dansby`s lawyers say he has an I-Q below 70... the threshold which the Supreme Court set to determine whether someone is mentally retarded. A federal judge has granted more time for Dansby`s defense team to build their argument. If found mentally retarded, the sentences would be overturned.
