A Bossier City teen is tonight's "Class Act".

Alex Mitchell is on the debate team and student council.

She also volunteers with her church, helping kids in the detention center and veterans' home.

The eighth grader says she likes learning about current events, math, english and literature.

The 14-year old looks forward to going to school at Elm Grove.

"It's more like we're a family within a school. Everybody's there for each other and the teachers are all willing to help everyone when they don't understand" she says.

Michell says she's looking forward to exploring college options and majors.
