With the "IRS 2 Go" app, you can get your refund status, tax tips and contact information.
Security features are built in.
"It's just incredible, it's exciting, for those that are on the go, do everything via the mobile devices, it's right there with you" he says.
72-hours after confirmation your federal return has been received, you can start checking the status of your refund.
The IRS plans to evaluate the app and make future enhancements.

H&R Block and Turbo Tax also have smart phone apps.
