Detectives are investigating an overnight shooting in Shreveport that left a local man injured and a host of questions unanswered.

At approximately 9:40 p.m. last night, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Queens Highway relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers located 32 year old Bruce Goss suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right shoulder.

Goss was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as a non-life-threatening injury.

Detectives were immediately dispatched and interviewed the victim who initially advised them he was walking in the 2200 block of Queens Highway when he was accosted by a male suspect.

The victim stated this male demanded $10 from him and, at some point during the altercation, pulled a gun and shot him. This version of the story was different from the tale told to responding patrolmen and Goss eventually offered detectives another rendition of the events that led up to his being wounded.

Detectives are working at this time determine exactly how the victim was shot and who is responsible for this crime. Anyone with any information is urged to call investigators at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373.
