An Ark-La-Tex town is in shock after a heat related accident claimed the life of a toddler. 14-month-old Zachary Bowden, of DeQueen, Arkansas, died early Friday morning after his mother, Kristen Bowden, accidentally left him in the car. Prosecuting attorney Tom Cooper said that he received information on the child`s condition Friday morning. "We found out about 4:45 this morning that the baby died in Little Rock. Now we have some tough decisions to make." The decisions to be made are whether charges will be brought against Bowden. "There are several factors that I`m concerned about. The mother had some brain surgeries that could affect her ability to remember. She normally doesn`t carry the child up there (to work) and had no criminal intent to injure or kill the child," Cooper said. Frank Adams, Chancellor at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas, where Bowden works as Vice Chancellor and Dean, says this truly was a terrible accident that has stunned the community. "No one would have anticipated this thing happening. She`s a good mother. It`s very tragic, terrible accident. The person that suffers the most is Kristen," Adams said. Cooper is waiting for more information before he makes a final decision on the case.
