An elderly former Shreveport lawyer was sentenced this morning on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Robert Goodman, 81, was back in Caddo District Judge Leon Emanuel’s court this morning after pleading guilty in December to fondling a client, a 16-year-old girl.  In addition to receiving a one-year suspended sentence with one year of probation, Judge Emanuel said Goodman must register as a sex offender.
The charge and guilty plea came after investigators served a search warrant at Goodman’s downtown Shreveport office and arrested him in March 2010.

In June 2010, Goodman voluntarily surrendered his license to practice law.
