Three local men have been arrested by Shreveport Police after a patrol supervisor witnessed them breaking into vehicles in downtown Shreveport.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on January 9, 2011, Shreveport Police Sgt. Richard Lopez was on patrol in the 200 block of Spring Street when he observed three male suspects breaking into vehicles there.

Lopez, assisted by other patrol officers, was able to take the suspects into custody and recover property taken in the burglaries. Officers subsequently booked the suspects, identified as 21-year-old Karldarl Hill of the 6100 block of Tulsa Avenue in Shreveport, 19-year-old Cedric Gafford of the 3300 block of Sidney Street in Shreveport, and 21-year- old Jeremy Coleman of the 400 block of Mohawk Trail in Shreveport, into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary each.

Detectives will be following up on these arrests to determine if the suspects are responsible for other similar crimes. Anyone with any information regarding these suspects or any other burglaries is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6985 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
