Busy season for Webster Parish law enforcement - Part 1

By: Nancy Cook
Updated: December 23, 2010

On Dec. 16, Scotty Lane Sepulvado, 35 of Piney Forest in Haughton, was stopped by CAD Patrol for doing 66 mph in a 55 mph zone on Hwy. 79.  As Sepulvado was slowing down for the stop, he made the brilliant move of tossing a small plastic baggie out of the vehicle he was driving.

Officers recovered said baggie and found it contained suspected marijuana.  Search of vehicle turned up a pipe, which Sepulvado admitted he used for smoking marijuana.  Not Sepulvado’s first rodeo - this was his third offense for possession of Schedule I narcotics. Third. He was charged with speeding 66/55; possession of a CDS Schedule I (3rd offense; marijuana); and possession of drug paraphernalia.
