Tom DeLay's Sentencing Set For January

By: Millicent Maiden
Updated: December 21, 2010

DeLay's sentencing was initially scheduled to begin today in an Austin courtroom, but Judge Pat Priest postponed the date because of a scheduling conflict.

A jury convicted DeLay in November on charges of money laundering and conspiracy.

He was accused of arranging an illegal 190-thousand-dollar corporate campaign contribution to Republican state legislative candidates in Texas in 2002.

DeLay faces up to 99 years in prison at his sentencing on January 10th.
