One still at large in November robbery

Shreveport Police detectives have jailed one local man and are now looking for another in connection with the robbery of two victims at a west Shreveport apartment complex earlier this month.

At approximately 5 p.m. on November 1, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported robbery in the 1800 block of Jewella Avenue. Upon arrival, officers learned that a pair of male suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached two female victims sitting in a car in the parking lot at Wellington Square Apartments. The suspects reached in the car and took items belonging to both victims. The duo subsequently fled the scene of the crime on foot with the stolen items. No one was injured during this robbery.

Detectives were notified and began an investigation. Based on information gathered during the course of their inquiry, they were able to develop two suspects and, on Nov. 10, arrested 20 year old Jawuan Dotie, of the 3100 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport, and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on two counts of armed robbery.

Investigators now have obtained a warrant for the arrest of the second suspect in this case - 18 year old Jeremy Lewis, of the 6800 block of Jefferson Paige Road in Shreveport, on an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with one count of armed robbery. Lewis’ bond is set at $480,000.

Anyone who has any information regarding the whereabouts of Jeremy Lewis is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective John Jackson at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
