Thursday, Bryan Wysinger, 47, was arrested in Texarkana, AR, on felony charges of Terroristic Threatening and Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer, after placing threatening calls to the 911 Call Center.
On Sunday, the 911 call center in Texarkana received a call in which a suspect threatened to kill a police officer before the end of 2010. Suspect also stated he would “kill a pig” at a stop sign or red light.
Wednesday, a similar phone call where the caller again made references to “killing a pig”. During this phone call the suspect again used similar specific references leading investigators to believe it was the suspect from the previous 911 call.
Further investigation by detectives positively identified the suspect as Bryan Wysinger,. The investigation revealed that Wysinger made at least two telephone calls to the Texarkana Communications Center and a local news agency threatening to kill a law enforcement officer.
The following statement was issued by Chief Robert Harrison:
“We took this threat very seriously and detectives did an exceptional job in developing suspect information, as there were no credible leads in the beginning for investigators to follow. All law enforcement officers in the Texarkana Metro area were placed on high alert and they were extra vigilant in performing their patrol duties.
“Officers throughout the United States are killed on a weekly basis. We will follow every lead and leave no stone unturned until we find these kind of cowardly individuals that threaten to ambush a police officer.
“I am asking for an excessively high bond and will do everything within my authority to see that Wysinger spends as much time as possible in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.”
