A West Shreveport Family Dollar was robbed today and investigators are asking the public’s help in apprehending the suspect.

Around 11 this morning, a black male entered the Family Dollar at 601 West 70th armed with a gun. He demanded the manager give him all of the money in the register.  The manager complied with the suspect’s demands.  The suspect left the business after taking an undisclosed amount of money from the register.

An unidentified witness stated that as the suspect exited the store, he headed South on Wallace and jumped into a older model brown vehicle possibly a Ford Contour or Escort.

During the interview with investigators, the manager stated that he saw a suspicious individual approximately 15 minutes before the robbery walking on Wallace wearing the same clothing as the suspect.  He described this individual as light skinned with a goatee and low cut hair

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10” tall, slim build.  He was wearing a black hoodie, white gloves, black ski mask, blue jeans.  He was carrying a small silver handgun, believed to be a revolver.

Anyone having any information is asked to Crime Stoppers,  who will pay $500.00 for any information leading to the arrest of the suspect.  673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
