Head on-collision in southwest Shreveport

By: Nancy Cook
Updated: December 9, 2010

Two people are in stable condition at LSUHSC after sustaining injuries in a head-on collision this morning in southwest Shreveport.

Brian Turner, was eastbound on the 2000 block of Crabapple at the intersection of Pitch Pine when he encroached into the westbound lane where Rodessa Bingham was driving, hitting her head-on.

Turner was removed from his vehicle and transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department. Bingham had to be extricated from her vehicle, after which she was also transported to LSUHSC.

Shreveport Accident investigators determined that as the Bingham vehicle(2) was Westbound in the 2000 block of Crabapple, the Turner vehicle(1) which was Eastbound encroached into the path of Bingham and struck her head-on.

Investigators were advised that Rodessa Bingham, sustained non life threatening lower extremity injuries and was listed in stable condition.  Turner, was listed in stable condition also suffering from non life threatening lower extremity injuries.

Possible charges may be filed on Turner pending the return of the toxicology results from the State Police crime lab.
