Updated: November 18, 2010

West Monroe police have released a description of a suspect wanted in connection with the random shooting of an elderly man in the parking lot of the Cypress Road Brookshire’s in West Monroe.

The suspect is described as a white male with red hair. He was dressed in camoflague and was last seen in a silver Toyota truck with Louisiana license No. W750678, which police say was stolen.  He was armed with a high powered rifle.

The shooting followed an armed robbery by the same suspect at the Chase branch on Thomas Road.  Police at this time believe the shooting was a random act.
Police said the shooter fled north on Warren Drive in West Monroe.
Debris, blood and crime scene tape littered the area around the fallen man’s car, described as an older model Buick.
