FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas is ranked No. 4 in the nation in Collegiate Baseballs 2007 pre-season poll, which was released on Friday.
The Razorbacks are behind only Rice, Clemson and South Carolina in the rankings. The rest of the top 10 includes North Carolina, Miami (Fla.), Texas, Vanderbilt, Nebraska and Virginia.
Head coach Dave Van Horns squad was 39-22 last season and finished second in the Southeastern Conferences Western Division. Van Horn has six starters returning from 2006, including infielder Danny Hamblin, who hit 17 home runs; pitcher Nick Schmidt, the SECs Pitcher of the Year after going 9-3 with 145 strikeouts; and pitcher Shaun Seibert, who was 4-0 with a 2.79 earned run average.
