Spears Fired as Head Coach!

GRAMBLING, La. - Grambling State University President Dr. Horace A. Judson announced today that Melvin Spears tenure as head football coach has ended immediately. "It is time to change the direction of Gramblings football program. I appreciate the hard work Coach Spears put in as head football coach," said Judson. "This was a difficult decision, but I believe it is in the best interests of the University and the football program." Offensive Coordinator Sammy White will serve as interim head football coach. President Judson said the search for the new head coach will start immediately with hopes of having the new coach in place by mid-January.
