GRAMBLING STATE FOOTBALL TO BE WELL-REPRESENTED IN POSTSEASON ALL-STAR GAMES

GRAMBLING, La. - Four seniors from the Grambling State University football team have accepted invitations to participate in various postseason all-star games. Cornerback Greg Fassitt and running back Ab Kuuan will play in the inaugural Inta Juice North-South All-Star game, fullback Ruben Mayes will play in the Las Vegas All-American Classic while Fassitt and offensive lineman Derrek Governor will participate in the Magnolia Gridiron Classic.
The inaugural Inta Juice North-South All-Star Classic, which features a variety of collegiate seniors from all levels of college football, is scheduled to take place on Jan. 13, 2007 in Houston, Texas at the Galena Park ISD football stadium. Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach will coach the South Team while San Jose State head coach Dick Tomey was named the North Team head coach. In addition to participating in the game, players will also be treated to a weeks worth of activities in the Houston area. The contest will kickoff at 11:00 a.m. and televised nationally on ESPN2.
Tiger fans wishing to track the progress of Mayes in the Las Vegas All-American Classic can do so via the NFL Network on Jan. 15, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. The contest will be held at Sam Boyd Stadium and will feature over 100 collegiate all-stars. Like the Inta Juice Classic, Mayes will participate in several events throughout the course of the week and also have the opportunity to practice in front of professional football scouts.
The Magnolia Football Classic will kickoff on Dec. 23 at Mississippis Veteran Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss. at noon. The contest, which pits Division I-A players versus I-AA players, will feature former Jackson State head coach W.C. Gordon and former Mississippi State and Texas A&M head coach Jackie Sherrill as the honorary head coaches. In similar fashion to the other contests, players in this game will have a chance to practice and play in front of professional football scouts throughout the week.
