A Shreveport man has been found guilty for his part in a 2009 home invasion in the Broadmoor area.

Jerome Bryant Jr.  was convicted by Judge John Mosely of aggravated burglary and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling following a bench trial Wednesday.

Mosely set  Nov. 15 for Bryant’s sentencing. Jacob Broussard, assistant district attorney, who prosecuted the case along with Scott Brady, said the District Attorney’s office plans to file a multiple offender bill against Bryant.

Bryant and an alleged accomplice kicked open the door to the home in the 400 block of Pennsylvania and fired two shots at the homeowner, who escaped injury.

After the incident was reported, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted by Shreveport police officers in the driveway of a residence in the 8400 block of David. Both fled when officers approached. Bryant later was found hiding in a doghouse by an SPD canine.
