SHREVEPORT-Centenary gymnastics coach Bill Hardy has announced the signings of Makensie Lant, Laura Loy, and Tara Sandoval to National Letters of Intent. The trio is expected to contribute immediately and will help add depth to a team that will lose only two seniors after this season. Lant attends high school at North Gwinnett in Suwanee, Ga., and competes for the Gwinnett Gymnastics club team. She placed sixth on the uneven bars and 13th in the all-around at the 2006 Region III Level 10 Regionals. "I am excited to be adding Makensie to our team," said Hardy. "She should be one of our best bar workers and contribute to our lineup on every event during the season." Loy comes to Centenary from Top Flight Gymnastics and Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas. She finished sixth on the vault and on the balance beam at the 2006 Region III Level 10 Regionals. "Laura is a powerful gymnast. She is expected to fit in with our team well and should compete for a spot in each rotation as a possible all-around performer," said Hardy. Sandoval competes in the all-around and was a 2006 Region III Level 10 Regional Qualifier as well as a 2005 Western National Qualifier. She hails from Waller, Texas, where she attends Waller High School and competes for Neimands Gymnastics. "Tara is a very talented athlete," said Hardy. "She should be very exciting to watch next season. She performs some unusual skills with high difficulty. We expect her to make a big impact." The Centenary Ladies kick off their 2007 slate on January 13th at Southeast Missouri State in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
