Attention Green Thumbs

By: Tiffany Wong
Updated: March 3, 2008
Its March and many people are trying to figure out what to plant this spring. The Haughton Forestry Department is making it easy to decide. Amateur green thumbs are able to pick up a variety of shade trees to plant. The packet includes everything from Cherrybark Oak to River Birch. If this is your first time playing in the dirt dont worry. "We give them a sheet that can take with them to show how to plant and what they have in their packet,” explained Cindy Laurence, Administrative Coordinator, Haughton Forestry Office. You can pick some shade trees through Friday at the Haughton Forestry Office at 740 Covington Road. The packets are only $3.00.
