Sports Stay Alive With 7-4 Win!

Bert Snow of the Shreveport Sports pitched a complete game, throwing 170 pitches as the Sports defeated Fort Worth 7-4 to even the Southern Division playoff series at a game apiece. Snow struck out ten, including the final out of the game, throwing only his fourth complete game in his career. Todd Self drove in five runs, inlcluding a three-run home run in the first inning as the Sports took a 4-0 lead after an inning. However, Fort Worth came back and scored four runs in the second to tie the game at 4-4. The contest stayed tied until the fourth when Austin Easley had a two-out triple and scored on a single by Coby Smith to give the Sports a 5-4 lead. Shreveport added an insurance run in the sixth on a Self infield hit and then Self drove in the final run in the eighth with a base hit that scored Melvin Falu. The best of five game series will now go to Fort Worth for game three on Thursday. Game time 7:05 pm.
