The Shreveport Sports completed the four-game sweep of Coastal Bend with a 8-1 Saturday over the Aviators at Fair Grounds Field. Ryan Snyder pitched a complete game, the third straight complete game hurled by a Sports starter against Coastal Bend. The victory was the sixth straight for the Sports and keeps Shreveport in second place in the South Division of the American Association. Shreveport scored their first six runs after two outs with the first two coming on a single by Al Corbeil in the first inning to give the Sports a 2-0 lead. The Sports increased the lead to 4-0 with a two-out single by Austin Easley in the third, followed by a two-run home run by Melvin Falu. The Sports had 15 hits against three Coastal Bend pitchers with Todd Self, Corbeil and Falu all getting three hits apiece. Shreveport will now open up a four-game series at El Paso Sunday night with game time 8:05 pm. The Sports will return to Fair Grounds Field next Thursday to face Pensacola.
