JACKSON, Miss. - The New Orleans Saints have traded RB Michael Bennett to the Kansas City Chiefs for an undisclosed selection in the 2007 NFL Draft, it was announced by the club today. Bennett, entering his sixth season, was signed by New Orleans on March 26 as an Unrestricted Free Agent. He spent the first five years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. "Michael is the consummate pro and he would be a good addition for any team," said Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. "He is a talented running back in the prime of his career who deserves an opportunity to play. We became overstocked at the position, and trading Michael to the Chiefs was a deal that was good for us and good for him. It was basically a win/win for everyone involved." The Saints stable of running backs includes Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush and Aaron Stecker.
