SAINTS SIGN G JAHRI EVANS TO THREE-YEAR DEAL

The New Orleans Saints have signed G Jahri Evans to a three-year contract, it was announced today by the club. Evans, the clubs fourth-round pick, was twice a finalist for the NCAA Division II Gene Upshaw Offensive Player of the Year Award at Bloomsburg (Pa.). During his college career, Evans anchored the left tackle position for his final three seasons. As a senior in 2005, Evans was part of an offensive line that surrendered only 13 sacks, helping spur a rushing offense that ranked eighth nationally (284.3 yards per contest). Evans (6-foot-4, 318 pounds), was chosen by the Saints in the fourth round (108th overall). Additionally, the club has placed G Augie Hoffman on Reserve/Injured.
